Big Progress in the Swimming Department
Yesterday was a big day for the kids. After much crying and gnashing of teeth, both kids took giant leaps forward.
Xak got his “band” – passed a basic swimming test – and was then allowed (for the first time ever) on the water slide
And water slide is all he did for the rest of the day. He must have climbed that tower fifty times:
Meanwhile, Nova put on her goggles for the first time and discovered how easy it is to swim under water. A BIG DAY!!

Oconeechee Mountain 2017
This is the highest point between Durham and the Sea. It is also much cooler on the mountain, and you are more likely to meet ambivalent snakes there than in downtown. Less than fifteen minutes from our house, and like so much Durham stuff, FREE.
